Garrett Mitchell Doing Well In Minors
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, hit his second home run of the season on Wednesday with High-A Wisconsin. Mitchell, the 20th overall pick out of UCLA last year, is now slashing .321/.493/.518 with the two home runs, 17 runs scored, 11 RBI and seven stolen bases in 75 plate appearances. He's a premium athlete despite dealing with Type 1 diabetes, and he had some of the best collection of all-around tools in last year's MLB draft. Mitchell is big and strong and has the chance to become an above-average regular at the next level if he reaches his offensive ceiling from the left side of the plate. The 22-year-old will rise through Milwaukee's farm system quickly if he continues to hit.
