Garrett Cooper Leaves Early With Knee Issue
2 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (knee) fouled a pitch off his knee and was removed from Tuesday's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before exiting. The 31-year-old is off to a terrific start this season, slashing .296/.363/.455 with seven homers, 40 RBI, and 28 runs scored over 77 games in 2022. The severity of Cooper's injury is unknown at this time, and he is considered day-to-day. Cooper will undergo further evaluation, and an update will be provided after the game. Avisail Garcia replaced him in the seventh inning. Stay tuned for other updates.
