Garrett Cooper Fractures Left Pinkie Tuesday
2 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (pinkie) fractured his fifth metacarpal on his left hand in the fifth inning of Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Mets, per Miami Herald's Jordan McPherson. Cooper was hit by a pitch in the top of the fifth inning and went 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout before being replaced by Charles Leblanc. This will likely be the end of Cooper's season, who slashed .261/.337/.415 with nine home runs and 50 RBI in 469 plate appearances. The 31-year-old has played well when healthy but has endured numerous injuries over the past several seasons.
