Garrett Cooper Could Return This Weekend
6 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said he's hopeful that outfielder/first baseman Garrett Cooper (hand) will be ready to return for the team's weekend series against the Braves. Cooper might start wearing protection after being hit by a pitch on his left hand. Consider Cooper day-to-day for now. The 28-year-old is hitless on just eight at-bats so far in 2019 and is hitting .250/.304/.345 with no homers and eight RBI in 31 career games for the Fish. He may have some value in NL-only leagues if he sees regular playing time, but those in mixed leagues don't need to pay attention.
