6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Garrett Richards (elbow) underwent an MRI Wednesday that revealed damage to his ulnar collateral ligament. Richards has been presented with a surgical and "conservative care" option but nothing has been decided yet. Richards opted for a newer biometrics surgery instead of Tommy John surgery in the past but there will be an update on Richards when a plan is decided upon. Richards is going to have a lengthy absence and if Tommy John surgery is the plan, he could potentially miss all of 2018 and 2019. Richards was the Angels best pitcher this season with a 3.42 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 73 2/3 innings.--Feldman Zach
