Gabriel Moreno Leaves Game 3 Early, X-Rays Come Back Negative
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (hand) was forced to leave Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers early on Wednesday after he was hit on the right hand with a foul tip in the fifth inning. However, X-rays came back negative and he was diagnosed with a right-hand contusion. The 23-year-old backstop will now have four days to rest up before the start of the Championship Series against either the Atlanta Braves or Philadelphia Phillies. Before leaving the game, Moreno went 1-for-2 with a solo home run (his third of the postseason) in the eventual 4-2 victory to sweep the division rivals in the NLDS. The young catcher has gone 4-for-16 with three homers, six RBI, five strikeouts and three runs scored in his first five career postseason games so far this October.
