He was coming off the first loss of his professional career, against Nicolas Dalby late last year. In 15 minutes of action, Bonfim landed a takedown and 101 significant strikes. With the win, Bonfim improved to 3-1 in the UFC.

Brazilian welterweight, Bonfim, was a massive favorite coming into his UFC Sao Paolo bout against Dalby. However, Dalby fought past the odds and secured a second-round knockout over Bonfim. In 9:33 of action, Bonfim landed three takedowns and 39 significant strikes. With the loss, Bonfim dropped 2-1 in the UFC.
