Frederik Andersen Shuts Out Panthers With 21 Saves
9 months agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen collected his first shutout of the season on Thursday in a 4-0 win over Florida. Andersen stopped one of the league's hottest teams from scoring with 21 saves. This was only the third start for Andersen since his return from a blood clotting problem. He's won all three contests, putting together spectacular numbers. Andersen has stopped 63 shots from 66 in the three starts for a .955 save percentage, and his goals-against average stands at 1.01. The Danish netminder has gone 7-1-0 for the entire campaign, and considering his recent form, more success is on the horizon for Andersen, with Pyotr Kochetkov sharing the goaltending duties with him.
