Freddie Freeman Stuffs The Stat Sheet In Win
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Freeman did a little bit of everything in this one, reminding everyone why he'll be starting in next week's All-Star game in Seattle. He put the Dodgers on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run blast, his 15th of the season, off Johan Oviedo to score Mookie Betts. He would then provide an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh to score Betts again and give the Dodgers a 5-2 lead. The 33-year-old also swiped a bag in this one. For the season, Freeman is slashing an absurd .320/.397/.542 with 15 home runs, 57 RBI, and 12 stolen bases across 347 at-bats on the season. That'll do just nicely.
