Freddie Freeman Could Rejoin Dodgers On Monday
Freddie Freeman could rejoin the team during their series against the Philadelphia Phillies, which starts on Monday. According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, an exact date is to be determined, but Freeman is trending toward returning next week against the Phillies. The 34-year-old has been away from the team for a week while on the family emergency list. He is slashing .288/.395/.493 with 16 home runs, 67 RBI, 63 runs, and five stolen bases over 456 plate appearances in 2024. Cavan Biggio will continue to handle first base duties while Freeman is out. Biggio is hitting .190 (4-for-21) with two home runs, five RBI, and 11 strikeouts over his last six games. The 29-year-old is mainly a streamer in deep leagues until Freeman returns to action.

Freddie Freeman Takes A Seat On Sunday
Freddie Freeman (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Freeman recently returned from the injured list and went 1-for-6 with three strikeouts during that span. It's not shocking to see the Dodgers giving Freeman a day off to get his mind right. Enrique Hernandez will cover first base and bat eighth versus right-hander Colin Rea. Hernandez is 4-for-40 to start the season, so he isn't an ideal fantasy option right now.

Freddie Freeman Activated And Starting On Friday
Freddie Freeman (ankle) from the 10-day injured list. Freeman is back at first base and will bat cleanup for Friday's series opener at Dodger Stadium against the Chicago Cubs and left-hander Matthew Boyd. It's not the greatest matchup for Freeman to return to for DFS purposes -- he's hitting .167 in six career at-bats against Boyd -- but fantasy managers in single-year leagues will want to get the All-Star first baseman back in their lineups for the weekend. The 35-year-old slipped in the shower in late March and aggravated his surgically repaired right ankle, but the Dodgers were never really concerned. There's a good chance he'll be rested at some point this weekend, but the only thing that matters is that he's starting on Friday. Freeman has gone 3-for-12 with two homers and four RBI in his first three games in 2025.

Freddie Freeman Expected To Return On Friday
Freddie Freeman (ankle) is expected to return on Friday when the Dodgers host the Chicago Cubs. Freeman has been on the 10-day injured list after suffering a setback on the ankle he underwent surgery on. However, it appears the 35-year-old is only expected to miss a short period of time. Through his first four games of the regular season, Freeman has posted a modest .250/.250/.833 line with a double and two home runs. However, under the hood, Freeman has generated an elite .577 xwOBA, which suggests he should see significant positive regression in his batting average. While Freeman has been sidelined, Kike Hernandez has seen most of the time at first base. When Freeman returns, he should be viewed as a must-start high-end No. 1 first baseman.

Freddie Freeman Heading To Injured List
Freddie Freeman (ankle) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 31. The Dodgers were hopeful to avoid this, but Freeman wasn't progressing as they hoped from his right-ankle sprain. It's worth noting that the sprain is on the same ankle Freeman had surgically-repaired. That being said, the Dodgers aren't going to take any chances this early in the season and will give Freeman some time to rest. Enrique Hernandez figures to handle a majority of the playing time at first base while Freeman is out. Hernandez isn't a must-have fantasy player, but he does hit well against left-handed pitching. The veteran slugger figures to see a boost in value while Freeman is on the shelf. Freeman needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues.
