Fred Vanvleet Won't Return Before All-Star Break
1 year agoHouston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (groin) won't return to the court until after the All-Star break. Including Monday's game, Vanvleet has missed four straight games due to a lingering groin issue. At this point, the Rockets are going to play it safe and shut down Vanvleet so he can get some rest. In the meantime, Amen Thompson should continue to start while Vanvleet is out. He's well worth a look as a streaming option while he's in the starting five. Also, Jalen Green figures to handle most of the ball-handling responsibilities which should boost his fantasy value.

Fred VanVleet Cleared To Return On Wednesday
3 weeks agoOn Wednesday, Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (ankle) is available to suit up against the Phoenix Suns, Danielle Lerner of The Houston Chronicle reports. The 31-year-old guard has missed 15 of the last 16 games due to a lingering ankle issue. It appears the problem is finally behind him. The 31-year-old's minutes will be limited in his return. That being said, he is probably not a great pick for DFS contests this evening. VanVleet returning to the floor will likely mean decreased minutes for Aaron Holiday and Cam Whitmore.

Fred VanVleet Listed As Out Thursday Against New Orleans
4 weeks agoRockets guard Fred VanVleet will miss his third straight game on Thursday due to an ankle injury. He missed 11 games in February with the same issue and returned for one game on March 1 against the Kings. He played 35 minutes but only had three points to go with five assists and five rebounds. While he has been out, Amen Thompson has stepped up and become a fantasy force, and with FVV still sidelined, he'll continue to be very involved in a favorable matchup Thursday against the Pelicans. Reed Sheppard has gotten more minutes in the last two games for the Rockets and could stay more involved than Aaron Holiday as a backup point guard.
