Frankie Montas' MRI Exam Brings Good News
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Frankie Montas (shoulder) received some positive news from his MRI results after it didn't show anything significant, according to sources. Montas could still get some extra rest due to the right shoulder soreness that caused him to get the MRI exam on Sunday following his latest poor outing against the Milwaukee Brewers. In eight starts since being acquired from the Oakland Athletics, Montas has a rough 6.35 ERA, and he allowed four runs in just 3 1/3 innings in his most recent outing against Milwaukee. He also sat out for over two weeks in July while with the A's due to shoulder inflammation, so the Yankees aren't rushing him back out there. Don't be surprised if the Yankees turn to Domingo German to take Montas' next turn in the rotation.
