Frankie Montas Brilliant In Coors Field Win
6 months agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Frankie Montas shut the Colorado Rockies down for his third win of the season Tuesday. Montas threw 63 of 96 pitches for strikes, allowing two walks and a hit while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings. The quality start lowered the oft-injured righty's ERA to 4.00. The nine strikeouts were a season-high for Montas, who won a game for the first time since April 3. The 31-year-old had given up 14 runs over his last four starts. He remains a matchup-dependent dart throw in most leagues outside of NL-only.
