Chris Buescher Looking To Bounce Back At Darlington
7 months agoAfter finishing just short in last week's race at Kansas, Chris Buescher will start third in Sunday's Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. As the driver who now holds the record for the closest runner-up finish in Cup Series history, one who truly believed he won the race when he exited the car last Sunday, you have to think there is going to be more motivation than normal for the RFK Racing star, which makes him an appealing play heading into the weekend. While starting as high as third may not typically be appealing for a DFS driver most weeks (given the limited upside the position offers in regard to place differential), at Darlington Raceway, this position should not be dismissed. Since the launch of the Next Gen car in 2022, drivers starting P3 are averaging 47.83 DraftKings points at this track, which is the second-highest average among starting positions. Likewise, over this same timeframe, Buescher is averaging 36.65 DraftKings points at "The Lady in Black", which is the seventh-best in the Cup Series. Between the heartbreak of last week's race at Kansas and given the success both he and his starting position have had at this track in recent years, the No. 17 is a driver you will want to have some exposure to in DFS this weekend.
