Fernando Tatis Jr. Battles Flu-Like Symptoms, Faces Absences

San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (illness) was held out of Tuesday's lineup and figures to miss at least one more day as he battles flu-like symptoms. It sounds as if San Diego is just being cautious with their star, as manager Jayce Tingler said, "If we were in-season, 100 percent he would be in there." Tatis figures to anchor the Padres' lineup from the get-go, having led the Majors in average exit velocity (95.9 MPH) and barrels (32) last season. There aren't many left sides of the infield that can be anticipated to play as many games so long as the starters are healthy as Tatis and Manny Machado are during 2021. Check back to get confirmation on Tatis' return to the lineup, but there should be no concern surrounding his long-term status.
