Felix Hernandez To Start Year In Rotation
6 years agoSeattle Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto confirmed that starting pitcher Felix Hernandez will start the season in the starting rotation. "There is no consideration of putting him in the bullpen," Dipoto said. Hernandez is nearing the end of his illustrious career. While he was a high-end fantasy ace for most of it, he's now become an unreliable starter in AL-only leagues after going 8-14 with a 5.55 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 7.2 K/9 in 29 outings (28 starts) in 2018. He is no longer missing bats an elite level like before, and health is also a concern for the 32-year-old (33 in April) with a ton of innings on his arm.
