Felix Bautista Records Four-Out Save On Thursday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Felix Bautista closed the door on the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday to earn his third save of the year. He pitched the final 1 1/3 innings of the game and retired each of the four batters he faced, striking out three along the way. The team's primary closer, Jorge Lopez, had pitched two consecutive days prior to Thursday, so he was likely unavailable for Thursday's game. While Lopez has had a few stumbles this year, he still has a stellar 1.71 ERA and 0.99 WHIP on the year. Even though Bautista has been even more dominant (1.50 ERA, 0.86 WHIP), it's unlikely that there's a changing of the guard in the ninth for the Orioles at this point.
