Felix Bautista Being Shut Down
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles right-handed rookie reliever Felix Bautista (knee) is being shut down for the final three games of the regular season this week due to left knee discomfort. Manager Brandon Hyde said it isn't a long-term injury and Bautista isn't expected to have any worries in the offseason. The 27-year-old Dominican burst onto the scene in his first MLB season and posted a 2.19 ERA (2.92 FIP), a 0.93 WHIP, 15 saves and 88 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings pitched in his 65 relief appearances. Based on how he pitched in his first season with the O's, he should be expected to open the 2023 as Baltimore favorite to close. With Bautista out for the final three games this week, Dillon Tate should receive any save chances that arise.
