Evan Phillips Secures Tuesday's Save
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Evan Phillips closed out Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, going one perfect inning while striking out two to record his eighth save of the season. The outing brought his 2023 line to a 2.20 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and 32.7% strikeout rate across 28.2 innings of work. Those are dominant numbers, and though the saves haven't always been there, Phillips should remain as the Dodgers number-one option for ninth-inning opportunities. The 28-year-old has value in every league and can start racking up the saves at any moment.
