Evan Phillips Secures Save No. 3
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers reliever Evan Phillips allowed one hit while striking out one across a scoreless inning in Sunday's 6-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. He entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a three run-lead. The 28-year-old made quick work of the Cardinals to secure his third save of the season. Phillips has converted all three save opportunities with a 2.70 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts over 10 innings in 2023. The Dodgers continue to use a closer by committee between Brusdar Graterol and Phillips. Despite sharing save chances, Phillips should be rostered in all league formats.
