The Texas Rangers selected Elizabethton High School outfielder Evan Carter with the 50th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Carter, 17, was committed to Duke and was also a right-handed pitcher in high school. He has a big frame at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds and is extremely athletic and a good runner for his size. Carter wasn't ranked by MLB.com in the top-200 prospects, but he should grow into more power and strength as he matures. With this pick, the Rangers could save some of their bonus pool for Rounds 3-5.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
