Eugenio Suarez Hitting Just .118 Through 13 Games
4 years agoCincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez is off to a sluggish start to the 2021 season. Through 13 games, he's slashing .188/.322/.396 with two home runs, four doubles, nine walks, five RBI and 11 runs. He has a hard-hit rate of just 27.6%, which ranks amongst the bottom 10% of the league and is substantially lower than his hard-hit rate last year, 44.7%. He also has a troubling xBA of .175 and a high strikeout rate of 33.9%. Suarez is a streaky hitter and he was one of the many streaky hitters who suffered from a shortened 2020 season. He finished the year hitting just .202, though he did hit 15 home runs. Fantasy managers who have Suarez on their roster should get used to the streaky play. There will be some rough stretches, but his season-long numbers should turn out fine.
