Eugenio Suarez Cools Down At The Plate
2 years agoAfter a phenomenal start to the season, Seattle Mariners' third baseman Eugenio Suarez has cooled off at the plate. He went hitless in the Mariners' 5-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, which lowered his average to .200 over the past seven games. His numbers are still quite impressive, but his production at the plate is a critical component of the Mariners' lineup. Seattle is 4-3 over the past seven games, and Suarez could have made a considerable difference if his bat contributed. The 31-year-old is slashing .200/.355/.320 in that seven-game span, in which he struck out 10 times while reaching base just eight times. On the season, the Venezuela native owns a .745 OPS with two home runs and a 117 wRC+.
