Ervin Santana Tosses Five Solid Innings In Return
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Ervin Santana wasn't in line for the win on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays but pitched well enough to help his team to a 12-6 victory. Santana made his first start since having surgery on his finger back in February. In total, he pitched five innings, allowed three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out five batters. Once Santana exited the game though, things got a little crazy and the game went into extra innings, tied at six. The Twins ultimately went on to win thanks to a six-run 11th inning. Santana might be good for a spot start here and there for daily fantasy players while being worth an add in deeper leagues. That said, outside of deeper, mixed leagues, his value diminishes due to the question marks that arise whenever a pitcher returns from injury. Santana will face the rival Cleveland Indians next, where it will be interesting to see how he performs against a team of that caliber.
