3 years agoFantasy managers should proceed with caution when considering Erik Van Rooyen this week. The big-hitting South African has missed five of his last six cuts. He is coming off a week at the U.S. Open where he lost strokes in all major categories except putting. All of Van Rooyen's best performances this season, such as a 10th-place finish at the Palmetto Championship and a 14th-place finish at the Valero Texas Open, have come at bigger courses where he is free to swing away. Whenever Van Rooyen has been tasked with a shorter course that places a greater emphasis on accuracy off the tee and short iron play, he has really struggled, recording missed cuts this season at Waialae and Innisbrook. Expect that trend to continue this week at TPC River Highlands.--Andy Lack
