Erik Swanson Starting Wednesday
6 years agoAfter Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc landed on the injured list with a right oblique strain, the Mariners called up pitcher Erik Swanson as his replacement. While it wasn't immediately known whether Swanson would replace LeBlanc in the rotation, that has now become official, as it was announced he'd start Wednesday. The 25-year-old went 8-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 24 appearances last season, spending time in Single-A, Double-A and Triple-A. Considering LeBlanc will be out for over a month, Swanson could end up being a solid waiver wire pickup should his performances warrant it.
