Erik Portillo Wins NHL Debut On Friday
16 seconds agoLos Angeles Kings rookie goaltender Erik Portillo stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced en route to winning his NHL debut over the Anaheim Ducks. Portillo had to step off the rink for a few minutes after losing his skate blade, which allowed Dave Rittich to stop two shots. Portillo's lone blemish came in the second frame on a goal by Ducks center Ryan Strome. Anaheim had a significant advantage in the shot total, but Portillo was able to lead the way for Los Angeles. The 24-year-old posted a .906% SV and 2.68 GAA through six games with the AHL earlier this season. With Darcy Kuemper (undisclosed) still on the injured list, Portillo could be a solid streaming option for the foreseeable future, given his stellar debut.
