Erick Fedde Fires Seven Shutout Innings
3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde tossed seven shutout innings against the New York Mets on Friday. The 28-year-old allowed just two hits and four walks while striking out six in the 1-0 Nationals walk-off win. Fedde pushed his consecutive scoreless-innings streak to 20 and has been lights-out over his past three starts, lowering his ERA to 3.33 and earning two wins. The right-hander's emergence has been sorely needed for the Nationals with aces Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg on the injured list. Fedde's next start is expected to come on Wednesday on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies and the dominant Zack Wheeler.
