Emoni Bates Inks New Two-Way Deal With Cavaliers
8 months agoCleveland Cavaliers small forward Emoni Bates has signed a new two-way deal with the team ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. The 20-year-old was also on a two-way contract last season after landing in Cleveland as the 49th pick of the 2023 NBA Draft. Bates made 15 appearances in the big league, notching 2.7 points in 8.9 minutes. He was a 20-point scorer in the G League. The young Michigan native clearly has good ability, but he still appears to be some way off from being an impactful NBA player.

Cavaliers Sign Emoni Bates To Two-Way Contract
2 years agoCleveland Cavaliers forward Emoni Bates officially signed a two-way contract on Friday with the team that drafted him 49th overall this year. Bates received All-Mid-American Conference Third Team honors last year while he averaged 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. The 19-year-old was highly touted as a high school prospect but hasn't had the best college experience since his freshman year at Memphis. He'll now go through Summer League and spend plenty of time with Cleveland's G League affiliate. He could be someone to hold on a taxi squad in a dynasty league, but that's about it.
