Emmanuel Rodriguez Goes On Minor-League Injured List
7 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb) was placed on Triple-A St. Paul's injured list with a right-thumb sprain. Rodriguez, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has been limited to 47 games in the minors and 209 plate appearances this year due to injuries. In those 47 games in the Florida Complex League and with Single-A Fort Myers, Double-A Wichita and St. Paul, the 21-year-old has hit .280/.459/.567 with a 1.026 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI and nine stolen bases. His thumb injury initially cropped up in April, and he just hasn't been able to get over it all year. There's no denying Rodriguez's production and his intrigue due to a left-handed swing that produces plenty of raw power, but he has missed out on key developmental time this year. Still, if he can stay healthy in 2025, Rodriguez could be on the fast track to making his MLB debut.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Sent To Minor-League Camp
4 weeks agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) was assigned to minor-league camp on Sunday. The 22-year-old has been dealing with an ankle sprain and will begin his 2025 season in the minor leagues. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he was able to take live batting practice earlier in the week. If he does face any setbacks, he should be cleared to play at the start of the Triple-A regular season. Last season, the 22-year-old appeared in just 47 games but made a significant impact. In 37 games at Double-A, Rodriguez held a .298/.479/.621 slash line with 12 doubles and eight home runs. During his brief seven-game taste of Triple-A, Rodriguez tallied six hits. If he can take the next step in his development at Triple-A, he should push for a late 2025 MLB debut.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Taking Live Batting Practice, Could Return Next Week
4 weeks agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) participated in live batting practice on Friday and could return to games sometime next week. Rodriguez suffered a sprained ankle earlier in camp but is nearing a return to action. The 22-year-old also missed a significant portion of last season due to a thumb injury that required surgery. Last summer, Rodriguez spent most of his time at Double-A where he appeared in 37 contests and held a .298/.479/.621 slash line with 12 doubles and eight long balls. Across his first seven games at the Triple-A level, Rodriguez tallied five hits with only one of them going for extra-bases. During the 2023 season, Rodriguez logged 99 games with High-A and posted a .240/.400/.463 line. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect the 22-year-old to open the season with Triple-A St. Paul. He could push for a MLB debut later in the summer if he enjoys a strong start.

Emmanuel Rodriguez To Be Delayed With Ankle Sprain
2 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (ankle) sprained his left ankle last week and will be delayed for a week or two from participating in spring training camp. In addition to his ankle injury, the 21-year-old is recovered from surgery he had on his right thumb last November. The Dominican outfielder has had a problem with the injury bug so far in his professional career and has not exceeded 100 games played since joining the organization in 2021. He played in 47 games over four minor-league levels in 2024 and slashed an impressive .280/.459/.567 with a 1.026 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI, nine stolen bases and 47 runs scored in 47 games played. If Rodriguez can get past his injuries and reduce his strikeouts, he could be an intriguing power prospect at the big-league level sooner than later. First and foremost, he needs to stay healthy and will almost certainly begin the year in the minors in 2025.

Emmanuel Rodriguez Will Have "Real Chance" To Debut In 2025
4 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (thumb) will have a "real chance" to contribute in the major leagues in 2025, according to Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll. Zoll spoke on Sirius XM MLB Radio and noted that the top prospect underwent a minor thumb procedure late last summer and will likely begin the season in St. Paul. However, Zoll said that if he starts off well, he should be in a great position to debut sometime this upcoming season. The No.2 prospect in the Minnesota system and No.21 overall on MLB.com spent most of 2024 with Double-A and held an excellent .298/.479/.621 line with 12 doubles, eight home runs, and nine stolen bases. He then appeared in nine games at Triple-A St. Paul before suffering his season-ending injury. Fantasy managers in deeper formats should pay close attention to his progress during Spring Training, as he may only require a minor tune-up at Triple-A before heading to Minnesota.
