Emmanuel Clase Throwing Gas
4 years agoCleveland Indians right-handed reliever Emmanuel Clase is the hardest-throwing pitcher in baseball. He has averaged 100.1 mph on his cutter, making him the only Major Leaguer to average triple digits through the first two weeks of the 2021 season. Clase missed all of last year after testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance, but he's moved into the back of the Tribe's bullpen easily and has recorded three saves in his first six appearances. The 23-year-old's defense has let him down, but that shouldn't keep the save chances from continuing in Cleveland. Clase is a perfect 3-for-3 in save tries and has seven strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings while not allowing an earned run yet this season. He needs to be owned everywhere.
