Emmanuel Clase Collects 37th Save
3 months agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase continued doing what he does, picking up his 37th save of the season versus the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday. Clase allowed a hit and stolen base in an otherwise perfect frame, one in which he didn't record a strikeout. Clase continues to be one of the top closers in the game and has now picked up four saves in the past four days. It is very likely that manager Stephen Vogt will give Clase a day or two off to recover with Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith as the likely candidates to pitch in the ninth in any potential save opportunity. For the season, Clase has a miniscule 0.64 ERA in 56 1/3 innings for the division leading Guardians.
