Emmanuel Clase Blows Save Thursday
1 year agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase took a blown save and a loss in a 4-3 extra innings defeat against the Kansas City Royals. Clase was asked to protect a one-run lead, which is never easy with the ghost runner. Still, Clase wasn't at his best as he allowed two hits, including a game-winning two-run double. The 25-year-old fireballer has been excellent since late May, as these were the first runs he's allowed in 13 ⅓ IP. Over that span he had a 17:5 K:BB ratio and only allowed four hits. So yeah, we'll give him a pass on this one.
