Eloy Jimenez Unlikely To Play This Weekend
Eloy Jimenez (leg) is doubtful to play this weekend against the Minnesota Twins, according to manager Tony La Russa. The young slugger left Wednesday's game with right leg tightness and said today that he felt the same pain he had during his rehab assignment that caused a setback. He was, however, able to hit today, which is a good sign in his progression. It has been another injury-riddled season for Jimenez, who has only appeared in 19 games. He hasn't been himself at the plate either, and it is possible that he's not feeling 100% even when he is deemed "healthy". Leury Garcia and AJ Pollock are manning the corner outfield spots tonight, and Adam Engel should also see increased playing time with Jimenez out.
