5 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly confirmed on Friday that starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez is being moved to the bullpen for the time being. Hernandez is 1-3 in five starts (two relief outings) this year with a 4.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, eight walks and 34 strikeouts in his 29 2/3 innings. There just wasn't enough room in the rotation for the 24-year-old with Caleb Smith back for the start of the second half. Hernandez could easily be back in the rotation at some point in the second half and has upside as a matchup-based streamer in deeper leagues if he gets another chance.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
