7 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Edwin Diaz went from April 3 until the game on April 10 between appearances, but he nabbed his first save in over a week as he shut the door on the Royals on Wednesday. Diaz set down the side in order and finished with one strikeout. The closer still has yet to allow a base hit or a walk all season, as his ERA and WHIP both stand at a glistening 0.00. He also has 12 strikeouts in his five innings of work. Diaz ranks among the league's elite when it comes to closers and must continue to be started on a nightly basis.--Brendan Kennealy
