Edwin Diaz Saves 21st Game
3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Edwin Diaz saved his 21st game of the year Sunday, closing the door on the Toronto Blue Jays with three strikeouts around one walk to secure a 5-4 victory. It's Diaz's second consecutive scoreless outing after giving up runs in his previous three. Despite his struggles, which have led to a 4.08 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, Diaz still strikes out plenty of batters (58 in 39 2/3 innings) and is a very worthwhile fantasy investment as the closer on a good team. He should be able to provide plenty of value going forward.
