Edwin Diaz Blows The Save In Dramatic Fashion Saturday
3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Edwin Diaz blew the save and took the loss in dramatic fashion Saturday, allowing a walk-off grand slam to Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Jacob Stallings to leave the Mets with a 9-7 disappointment at the hands of one of the worst teams in the major leagues. Diaz has been largely ineffective of late, but he's been truly dreadful over his last seven contests, with a 10.29 ERA and 2.00 WHIP despite saving three games in that span. Fantasy managers can do little but wait and hope Diaz improves, but his dropped spin rates over the last several weeks are quite ominous.
