Edward Olivares Tallies Two Hits In 2021 Debut
3 years agoThe Kansas City Royals called up outfielder Edward Olivares from Triple-A prior to Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Olivares had a strong offensive showing in his 2021 debut on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a run. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut last year with the San Diego Padres and was traded to the Royals mid-season. Over 31 games split between the Padres and Royals last year, he slashed .240/.267/.375 with three home runs and 10 RBI. He batted sixth in the lineup on Sunday and will likely remain in or around that spot during any starts he makes going forward. He's worth monitoring for deep league managers, but can be left on waivers in all leagues at this point.
