Edward Cabrera Ineffectively Wild On Tuesday
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Edward Cabrera simply could not throw strikes in Tuesday's start against the New York Mets. Cabrera lasted just 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on one hit and four walks while hitting two batters. The rookie threw 65 pitches, just 31 strikes. Both batters he hit came with the bases loaded. In his first 12 2/3 big league innings, Cabrera has walked seven and struck out five. He showed far better command in the minor leagues and shouldn't take too much longer to figure things out. With the Marlins nowhere near playoff consideration, Cabrera should get to start every five days for the remainder of the season. He's a worthy dynasty and keeper league starter right now, but doesn't need to be rostered in redraft formats right now.
