Edward Cabrera Develops Blister In Wednesday's Start
2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera (finger) showed his high-end talent in a start on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals, but he left his outing prematurely after 79 pitches due to a blister on his right middle finger. Cabrera's final line was two runs allowed over five innings while striking out six and not walking a batter. "I don't know what more you can ask for than that," manager Skip Schumaker said of Cabrera's outing. He was throwing more strikes and it was the first time in his career that he didn't walk a hitter while going at least five innings. The 25-year-old right-hander also induced 18 swings and misses on 45 total swings. Hopefully the blister issue is nothing to worry about and Cabrera can build on this strong outing in his next scheduled start on the road against the Colorado Rockies.
