6 years agoBoston Red Sox second baseman is not in the lineup Thursday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Brock Holt will bat sixth and take his place at second base, though he is not a quality streamer for the matchup. The Sox are going with a balanced lineup of four righties and five lefties against Jaime Barria. Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland will swap places in the lineup, batting fifth and fourth, respectively. Christian Vazquez will catch for Brian Johnson over Sandy Leon, who had a big three-run home run on June 27. Barria has never faced the Sox before, so you can expect a feeling-out process at both ends of play. The youngster has pitched well this season, but he’s struggled more against righties than lefties. The Sox heavy-hitters (Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez) should be started confidently.--Mauricio Castillo
