Dylan Cease Closer To A Call-Up
5 years agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that starting pitching prospect Dylan Cease is getting closer to being called up and July could be a target date. Cease, the team's No. 3 prospect and No. 19 overall per MLB Pipeline, is 5-2 this year with a 4.10 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 22 walks and 59 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings over 11 starts for Triple-A Charlotte in 2019. His 11.6 K/9 in five minor league seasons shows his upside as the Pale Hose's second-best pitching prospect in the system behind Michael Kopech. The 23-year-old should be up in the big leagues this year, as it's mostly just a matter of time. Stash him now in deep mixed and AL-only leagues if you have the room.
