Dylan Carlson Avoids Surgery
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson (ankle/oblique) has avoided season-ending surgery after receiving an injection in his left ankle, according to MLB.com. The former top prospect has been on the IL since earlier this month after straining his oblique but is also dealing with a lingering ankle issue. Carlson hopes to return this season and improve on his .219/.318/.333 slash line, but there's no timetable at the moment. The 24-year-old hasn't done much of anything offensively, as he's gone deep just five times and has recorded 27 runs, 27 RBI, and three steals across 76 games.
