years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver D'Wayne Eskridge (foot) has been dealing with an injury this offseason that landed him on the Physically Unable to Perform list in late July. However, head coach Pete Carroll announced that Eskridge and the equipment staff got together to create a special cleat that is allowing Eskridge to run pain-free. Eskridge is expected to increase his conditioning work over the next few weeks, and the goal is for him to be activated before the team opens play in Week 1. The first-year pass-catcher is an excellent fit for this offense and could see action in three-receiver sets alongside D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, making him an intriguing late-round flier in deeper leagues if he's healthy enough come Week 1.--Gage Bridgford - RotoBaller

months agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver Dee Eskridge (personal) will not travel with the team and has been ruled out for Monday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams. Eskridge did not participate in practice on Thursday due to a personal matter and will now set his sights on returning in Week 11 to face the Las Vegas Raiders. Eskridge has been operating as a depth option in the Miami wide receiver room and caught just one pass over the past two weeks. In addition, Tyreek Hill's (wrist) status is also up in the air for Monday's game. This could potentially leave Jaylen Waddle and Odell Beckham Jr. as the lone wideouts for Miami on Monday.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

months agoThe Seattle Seahawks waived wide receiver Dee Eskridge and released PJ Walker, linebacker Blake Lynch, cornerback Artie Burns and safety Marquise Blair on Tuesday. Injuries limited Eskridge to 24 games (zero starts) in his three seasons with Seattle after they took him in the second round (56th overall) out of Western Michigan. In those 24 games with the Seahawks, he had just 17 receptions (34 targets) for 122 yards and one touchdown. If the 27-year-old pass-catcher clears waivers, he could rejoin the team on their practice squad. Walker will hit the open market, which isn't surprising after the team added Sam Howell as the backup to starter Geno Smith this offseason. The 29-year-old appeared in six games (two starts) with the Cleveland Browns in 2023 and completed a career-low 48.6% of his passes for 674 yards, one TD and five interceptions.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

months agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver Dee Eskridge performed well in the Seahawks' preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. Eskridge finished with three receptions for 19 yards and returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown. Eskridge is buried on the wide receiver depth chart. His best chance at a roster spot may be as a returner. The former second-round pick has battled injuries and poor play throughout his career. However, his speed and skills as a returner may be an asset to the team.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBaller

months agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver Dee Eskridge will likely get one more season to prove himself in the NFL after being a second-round pick in 2021, and new head coach Mike MacDonald's coaching staff has decided to give him a shot as a kick returner in 2024. In addition to Eskridge, free-agent pickup Laviska Shenault Jr. is also getting reps as a returner in organized team activities. The 27-year-old Eskridge finished off the 2023 campaign on Injured Reserve with a rib injury, but he appears to be fully healthy now and ready to go for the 2024 regular season. He didn't have a single catch while playing in just four games in 2023 and has only 17 receptions on 34 targets for 122 yards and one touchdown in his three years in the NFL. Eskridge remains well off the fantasy radar.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
