6 years agoUpdating previous reports, the Boston Red Sox placed second baseman Dustin Pedroia (knee) on the injured list on Thursday. Reliever Marcus Walden was called up from Triple-A Pawtucket in a corresponding move. It's unclear how much time Pedroia will miss, but fantasy owners in AL-only leagues shouldn't expect him to be back anytime soon. The veteran second baseman is fading into the sunset and just hasn't been able to stay on the field the last two years because of knee issues. Eduardo Nunez should remain the starter at second base until Brock Holt (eye) is 100 percent healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
