Dustin Garneau Homers In Second Straight Game
3 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Dustin Garneau went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 2-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. It was his second home run in as many games and his fifth home run over just eight games this month. The 34-year-old journeyman was called up by the Tigers from Triple-A in mid-August. He has been sharing catching duties with Eric Haase lately, but he's been in the lineup more often than not as Haase has also been getting starts in the outfield. Over 15 total games in the majors this year, Garneau is slashing .261/.286/.739. Based on his .208/.288/.376 career slash line, we're likely just seeing a bit of a hot streak from him. He's not someone fantasy managers should prioritize off the waiver wire.
