Duke Johnson Expendable After Kareem Hunt Signing?
6 years agoCleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey said that running back Duke Johnson isn't "expendable yet" after the team signed Kareem Hunt on Monday. However, Dorsey also made it sound like he hadn't made up his mind completely on the subject. Hunt is expected to face a lengthy suspension from the league for domestic violence, so the Browns may not choose to move on from Johnson until Hunt is eligible to play again. For some odd reason, Johnson carried the ball a career-low 40 times in 2018 for 201 yards and no touchdowns while also catching a career-low 47 passes for 429 yards and three touchdowns. It seems as though Cleveland is ready to move on, but Johnson will be the pass-catching option behind Nick Chubb to start the 2019 season.
