Drew Smyly Looks Solid In Relief
3 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Drew Smyly was asked a few weeks ago to pitch the rest of the season out of the bullpen. At the time, the Braves had a few starters coming back from injuries and didn't have room for everyone. The veteran left-hander is making the most of his chances out of the pen. On Tuesday, he went 3 1/3 innings, four hits allowed, one earned run, and four strikeouts in the 6-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Smyly pitched in relief of Jesse Chavez who drew the start as the opener. There is basically no fantasy value from either pitcher, but this combination seemed to work on Tuesday.
