Drew Smyly Expects To Miss One Or Two Starts
6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Drew Smyly said his arm was tired from a heavy workload and needed a break. He expects to miss no more than one or two starts. The left-hander hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2016 with the Rays, so it's understable that's he might already be fatigued. It's not a good sign for his longevity this year, but Smyly should be back pretty soon. He has a nice 11.4 K/9, but his ERA sits at 7.80 with a 1.93 WHIP and 10 walks in 15 innings over four starts. Smyly will continue to be a very shaky fantasy streamer in deeper leagues for the rebuilding Rangers.
